BMBF research project on plastics in construction started

After packaging in Germany, the construction sector is the second largest plastics application area. But what happens if these products have to be dismantled? In the pilot project KUBA (Sustainable Plastics Value Chain: Pilot Case Plastics in Building and Construction), research is to be conducted into how plastics from the construction industry are recyceled and how raw materials for new products are recovered from them.

Among the supporters of the pilot project, which has a duration of 18 months and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is AGPU as well as numerous companies and associations. The PVC experts from Bonn are contributing their many years of expertise in the established PVC recycling systems in the construction sector to the project.
